PRESS RELEASE: 2ND ANNUAL ROUND TABLE CANNONBALL RUN CAPE

Calling all car enthusiasts in the Western Cape, it’s almost time for the second Round Table Cannonball Run Cape.

The RT Cannonball Run Cape is an offshoot of the successful Round Table Cannonball Run Africa. It is not a race - instead competitors are set tasks and have to find clues in order to cross the finish line.

The Run is held over two days and nights in the picturesque surroundings of the Cape starting in Cape Town and then moving on to parts unknown.

Teams of two compete to find the answers to questions contained in clue books and also participate in challenges, both behind the wheel and on foot, to gain valuable points.

To the contestants the run is a test of skill, teamwork and general knowledge.

For spectators the Cannonball Run is an opportunity to see some of the world's most beautiful automobiles in action. From Lamborghini's to Land Rovers the Cannonball Run is a vehicular feast.

The event is not only about the machines on display but also about giving back to those who are less fortunate.

Last year the Cape edition of the run raised R50 000 for Little Angels Place of Safety and Help Centre and Cotlands and this year the organisers are looking to better that by some margin.

"The Cannonball Run Africa on which the Cape Run is based has grown from strength to strength over the years. This is the second year that the Cannonball Run Cape will be happening and we are hoping that the event will continue to grow," said Cannonball Run organiser Ross Crichton.

This year the event will start on March 18 and will end on March 20th with a black tie gala dinner and entries are already open for both individual and corporate entries.

Entry includes, for 2 people, two nights' accommodation (sharing), dinners, breakfasts, goodies bag, all entry fees and event costs.
